Abstract
The dataset comprises bibliographic records that describe extant Illinois newspapers, and holdings records with information on where researchers can find copies of those newspapers. Each holding record includes a list of which issues exactly are held by each institution, and a link to contact information for the holding institution. The records are the product of a 22 year project (1987-2009), the purpose of which was to identify and locate Illinois newspapers, both original print and microfilm, throughout the state of Illinois.
