Abstract
The term telecommunications encompasses the electronic transmission of
voice, data and video information from one, location to another, and
includes all physical equipment, software and procedures used in transmitting
and receiving that information. Libraries' approaches to telecommunications
are undergoing rapid change because of rising
telecommunications costs, emerging technologies and the changing needs
of libraries.
