The history of the pharmaceutical company called Parke-Davis and Company is traced. The company originated as a partnership between Dr. Samuel Duffield and Hervey C. Parke in 1866. Duffield withdrew from the business in 1871 and George S. Davis entered into the picture. By 1890, Parke-David has become a successful and prosperous company. However, in 1961, the company was in a downward spiral. It was later purchased by Warner-Lambert in 1974.
