Abstract
E.H.S. Bailey trained thousands of chemists and helped establish a strong, dynamic chem. department during his 50-yr tenure at the University of Kansas. He dedicated his life to educating Kansans about the need for clean water, proper labeling, and unadulterated foods. His many publications, analyses of industrial products, desire to educate, and leadership in the Kansas State Board of Health brought national recognition to the University of Kansas Chem. Department.
