Abstract
A review. The article discusses efforts of the Division of the History of Chem. of the American Chem. Society to keep the stewardship of the legacy of chem. to pass on to the present and future of the discipline. Members of the HIST and similar organizations aims to achieve this by using new media to disseminate historical content, providing historical perspective on current issues and events of the recent past, and interpreting the past in educational materials for future chemists.
