This article discusses the early discovery of Prussian blue in 18th century as first synthetic pigment. Prussian blue is a very stable compd. with the exception of being labile in alk. media. The discovery of Prussian Blue is still enigmatic and has not been well researched. Today, Prussian Blue is still used as a pigment, but it also has other applications ranging from electrochromics and sensors to poison antidotes.
