A short biog. of Carl Bosch (1847-1940) is presented. The article provides an account on the life of Carl Bosch and on his significant contributions to the development of the industry of synthetic indigo. In addn., a brief description of the Carl Bosch Museum in Heidelberg is presented. The museum portrays both Bosch's private life and his professional career.
