Abstract
The transfer of chem. knowledge from the center of Europe to the periphery during the 19th century has been the object of numerous studies. The purpose of our research was to investigate the ways how, in the 19th century, chem. knowledge, lab. skills and ideas were transferred to Portugal through the Lisbon Polytechnic School.
