Language anxiety affects English learners' ability to communicate effectively. Drawing from over two decades of teaching experience, this article explores the nature of language anxiety, its effects on learners, and practical techniques to reduce its impact. It introduces the Language Anxiety Reduction Cycle (LARC), a four-stage framework that guides learners from exposure to authentic materials through extensive practice, reality-immersion activities, and independent communication tasks. A supportive environment and carefully structured experiences are shown to be essential in helping students overcome language anxiety and build long-term communicative confidence.
