- Abstract
- This study examines the factors influencing turnover intent among millennials in the medical field compared to older generations, using pre-pandemic and post-pandemic datasets. Results indicate a shift in workplace priorities, with pre-pandemic retention driven primarily by perceived supervisor support and servant leadership culture, whereas post-pandemic, organizational support emerged as the dominant factor, with employee engagement playing a growing role. Stepwise regression and ANOVA analyses were used to identify the most significant factors for each generational group. Findings highlight the increasing importance of institutional stability and engagement in reducing turnover, underscoring the need for organizations to invest in comprehensive support systems. Implications suggest that leadership strategies must adapt to these evolving workforce expectations, with a greater emphasis on systemic support rather than direct supervisory relationships.
