- Energy-harvesting wireless networks face fundamental trade-offs between latency, reliability, and energy efficiency, particularly in contested spectral environments with adversarial interferers. This paper introduces HOPE (Harvesting-Optimized Path selection with End-to-end outage guarantees), a novel framework for joint routing and power allocation in multi-hop networks where nodes rely entirely on ambient RF energy harvesting—including from interferers—for operation. We formulate an optimization problem that minimizes the maximum harvesting latency along a path while guaranteeing a probabilistic end-to-end outage constraint. By deriving closed-form expressions for outage probabilities and leveraging Lagrangian duality, we transform the min-max problem into a tractable form solvable via Dijkstra’s algorithm. Numerical results demonstrate that HOPE achieves significantly lower harvesting latency compared to benchmark strategies such as shortest-path and minimum-energy routing, while robustly maintaining outage guarantees even under severe interference.
