- Abstract
- Through my art practice, I’m exploring atypical forms of storytelling as communication, such as image sequence, symbolic storytelling, and auto-ethnographic epistemology. How can we use mediums like comics and animation to quantify our experience beyond accessible language? How can we bridge social and cultural gaps between identities, ways of learning, thinking and conceiving of reality if we can’t articulate the precise ways our outlooks differ? How do we, in accessible terms, describe the logic we apply to our perspective across invisible gaps of language and praxis? This sequence is part of a longer story that describes how social landscapes can isolate individuals, creating alienation and cultural bubbles. It describes, beyond words, the feeling of losing the ability to participate in a collective identity, losing a community, a place.
