- Abstract
- I had always heard that to get into an MLIS program your undergraduate degree could be in anything because libraries encompass everything. Yet, for my two years at the Ischool I was wondering if my skills from my degree in set design would ever transfer over. I was very excited and nervous to take a class in bookbinding, but I felt at home again as I covered my hands in artistic goop and paint, with the occasional stab to the finger from a sewing needle. This project allowed me to connect my design and art skills with my career goals as a preservationist/conservationist. This book was created as a gift to my nieces and nephews with a page made specifically for each of them, and it was such a joy to see them rip apart the book to paint their pages.
