- Abstract
- My research is aimed to learn about the mysteries of the nucleus, where our genes reside. The nucleus is not a homogeneous soup but rather a complex system where every single component (proteins, DNA and RNA) is arranged spatiotemporally in a particular order. While images of the nucleus under the microscope can be fascinating, 4 days’ worth of experiments, a step of which is depicted in the image, leads to the day when we can finally capture the image of the nucleus. While it gives me a lot of joy when my experiments succeed, I have also learned to find joy in handling the fragile coverslip in a way that does not flip or break it. This image is a glimpse into the skill and tasks of each day of conducting research which is perhaps as important as the results.
