- Abstract
- Pictured are two customized silicone fingers, which can be actuated by pulling a thread through them, with human hands around them for contrast. They are part of a larger project, in which the fingers are controlled by signals fed through an arduino to mimic the movements of a human hand live-time. With the versitility of soft robotics, people can create a hand that is customizeable to themselves, in terms of size and color. By putting together the prosthetic hand kit with instructions available for schools, we hope to inspire highschool students to pursue engineering and grow their love for soft robotics. In the future, we hope the kit could become improved, easy to put together, and functional enough for children to create their own cutsomizeable prosthetics at home.
