Abstract
In this paper, we describe a study investigating the feasibility of biosensing technologies to monitor levels of speaking anxiety within a classroom environment. We adopted a design thinking approach to develop a biosensor-based prototype which monitors learner anxiety when delivering presentations. The solution is intended to cue instructors to provide emotional and instructional scaffolding to assist anxious learners. We review the approach, assessing its benefits for use by both designers and researchers interested in harnessing the potential of biosensing technologies to support instructors.
