Abstract
The Journal of Community Informatics has been the primary open access journal to advance key ideas in community informatics over the past 20 years. During this time, the journal has published on a wide range of topics at the intersection of research and practice in information sciences focused on the well-being of communities. One of these topics has been engaged scholarship, which is concerned with developing collaborative relationships to advance new knowledge for mutual benefit with those beyond the university. This session will feature examples of what we are calling "engaged information sciences" and provide an opportunity for attendees to share their interests in this area, as well as to contribute ideas for future publications and special issues of The Journal of Community Informatics.
