Abstract
A collaborative effort by students in Urban & Regional Planning, Landscape Architecture and Architecture worked together on a sustainable design-build project for a Farmers Market relocation plan for La Asociacion Agricultural. working with a nonprofit, Monteverde Institute, students were able to use their skills to serve a disadvantaged community for an agricultural group, La Asociacion Agrocultural. The association had specific goals and expectations of the new market design. The design of Feria de Sabado focused on sustainability and community outreach for citizen participation to address the needs and desires of the Monteverde community. It required multidisciplinary interaction and real involvement with local communities and public/institutional/non-profit organizations.
