- Abstract
- I did this project during my internship in the world-renowned artist Ai Weiweis studio in Beijing, January 2014. Ai Weiweis Lego Project consists of 176 portraits of prisoners of conscience from all over the world which are made of Lego blocks. Every portrait is designed in more than three different prototypes. We have to choose one of them which is the most suitable to be exhibited in museum and published in newspapers and magazines. I am responsible to the design of more than 40 portraits, including prisoners of conscience from China, Iran, Russia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, United States and Vietnam. We chose the suitable photos, apply Lego colors to them and pixelize them. In the image are a few examples of what I designed for this installation. This installation is now exhibited in the show @Large: Ai Weiwei on Alcatraz in San Francisco.
