Abstract
The theoretical objective of this study is to explore formation and reproduction process of language ideology and attitudes under the circumstance where a linguistic community is located under the influence of the 'outer' language. By delving into interaction of ideological and attitudinal responses to the linguistic challenge, it endeavors to inquire into language practice itself. Furthermore, this research examines the effect of language ideologies and attitudes on national language policy, which recursively designs language ideology of a society. Studying the communication of these three factors gives us some insight on the nature of linguistic life. To accomplish this objective, this study draws data from different speech genres and sources. The major sources of this research are commercial and mass media discourses, in which ideologies and attitudes are deeply entrenched. Experimental data and survey results provide the data to analyze for this research.
