Abstract
"This study does not provide an exhaustive discussion of the social characteristics of the ""middle class"" to elucidate the conceptual problems of stratification in a new comparative manner; rather, it focuses on the ways in which an Islamic identity has been transformed into a new configuration of life and into a dominant expressive culture such as through hajj-tourism."
