Abstract
The organization that L. Bryan Shelburne, Jr. inherited in 1990 was constituted essentially as it is today, and only minor changes were made to the unit's structure. In 1997, however, 10 Master Sergeant (E8) positions were cut. Under Shelburne, the band performed internationally in Turkey, Sweden, Norway, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Nova Scotia, and Scotland. In addition, the band became more involved in the commissioning of new works. Shelburne retired in 2000 and was replaced by Gary F. Lamb.
