Abstract
Carolina García Jayaram, President and CEO of United States Artists (USA), discusses the history and mission of United States Artists, and uses this as a springboard to discuss her own career trajectory in arts nonprofits. García Jayaram also highlights the USA Fellows Program, in which $50,000 unrestricted awards are provided to individual artists and small collaborations, based on nominations by peers and experts in the respective fields. These Fellowships are awarded in nine creative disciplines—Architecture & Design, Crafts, Dance, Literature, Media, Music, Theater & Performance, Traditional Arts, Visual Arts—to recipients across every US state and territory. García Jayaram finishes by addressing questions regarding the non-profit job search.
