A Fresnel Lens is an optical instrument invented in
the 19th century that bends light like an ordinary lens
except with much less necessary material.
This lens is the 1st or-der lens from Bodie Island
Lighthouse and light from it can be seen for
18 nautical miles (21 miles or 33 kilometers).
